I just came home after witnessing the Boston Red Sox beat the Cleveland Indians in Game 7 of the ALCS to qualify for the World Series 2007. Fantastic environment. There is no sports fan more genuine than a Red Sox fan, and nothing – NOTHING – more inspiring in the sports vein than being at Fenway Park here in Boston with 40,000 fellow fans =) EDIT: The Boston Red Sox have won the World Series by beating the Colorado Rockies in a 4-0 sweep in the 7-game series. Nothing more inspiring? You’ve never been to a rugby international then! 😎 Hundreds, nay thousands of people singing in the streets, kicking balls around, having impromptu scrum and lineout practices all lubricated by the finest beer the host nation can supply… and that’s before the game starts.

@Tom: Haha – I got called out! I actually have been to a few rugby matches at Twickenham, and I do agree with you – the crowd fervour is fantastic. And even still, I could replace where you wrote “kicking balls around, having impromptu scrum and lineout practices” with “having random catching practice, playing dodgeball with a wiffle bat-and-ball” and you wouldn’t be too far off! And throw in Irish step dancing somewhere in all of that too.

Here’s to healthy and intense rivalry in sports, all around the world.

    Cheers for the comment.

What’s this got to do with the E90? And in any case, while ranting, what logic is there to calling this competition the ‘world’ series when only teams from the US take part? 😉

And what’s it got to do with the E90? I took that picture of the ball park with my E90, that’s what!
